AMP 2Demo - May 22, 2003
A new version of the AMP 2 demo has been released. The
ATI R300 chipset is supported (Radeon 9500, 9700, 9800, etc) as
well as the latest Detonator drivers. The demo also includes new
artwork and additional effects.
Additionally, the AMP 2 development environment and API have been
improved:
* Vertex blending. Now animations can blend between up to 4 bones
for realistic smooth joints and facial animation. What you see in
Max or character studio is what you get in the engine.
* Alpha cutout support for transparent textures like fences, gratings,
etc. Note this works with bump maps also.
* 2048 texture support
* Real time lighting preview in the level editor.
* Automatic room partitioning based on portal placement.
* Numerous other editor productivity improvements such as a quick-clone
key, 45 and 90 degree quick-rotate buttons, mouse panning and mouse
wheel zooming.
* Up to 25% rendering performance increase.

Feature: ATI Radeon 9700 Support - April
12, 2003
Support for ATI's Radeon 9700 (and other R300 based boards) has
been added to AMP II. ATI has been a
great help getting us going and were even kind enough to send us
one of the pre-production 9800 boards!
Expect support for these cards in the up-coming release of the engine
which should be ready in the next week.
So if you have an ATI board keep an eye out for the next release
of the public demo!
