New Rendering Feature added to AMP: Dynamic Lighting
May 29, 2001

Dynamic lighting has been added to AMP. Some limited integration with Gore has been done and the results are quite promising. Dynamic lights on the rockets, muzzle flashes, and shotgun shield really livened the look of the game and frame rates were good as well. Expect this advanced feature in the next public release.

Progress Report
August 21, 2000

Whew! Things have been busy lately. The last few months have seen some new features but more importantly the AMP engine has become much more mature. Lots of attention to detail, bug fixes, testing, and optimization have really given AMP a solid profressional feel. 4DRulers is doing some great things with the engine and the recent completion of their publisher demo has been a milestone for all of us. A few people have had the luck to bash and be bashed at a LAN in the Eyecon offices in Brisbane.

New rendering features added to AMP: Discrete character LOD

New rendering features added to AMP: Procedural material layers
Februrary 28, 2000

Procedural material layers support in AMP is wrapping up. This an improvement over the previous design which relied on pre-defined layer functionality. The new design is far cleaner internally, far more powerful, and a bit faster too! Now, creating a new texture mapping effect requires only the implementation of a few functions in a single source file. Individual effects or "layers" can be stacked in any order in the editor, so the level designers can create incredible custom texturing effects.
New Gore screenshots!
Februrary 25, 2000

4DRulers Software Inc. released 3 new incredible screenshots from Gore. These guys are really getting good at getting the most from AMP's character lighting system. Not to mention the quality of their 3DSMAX generated characters. 4DRulers has developed their own plug-in to 3DSMAX that converts characters and animations to the AMP format. Slam is working with 4DRulers so that this technology will be available to future AMP licenses.
